No upsets in the first round, so it's 1 vs. 4, and 2 vs. 3. We'll see if a week's time and a change of location makes any difference for the MMT matchup with UMW.

I like CNU to beat York and, given how Marymount's playing, I like the Saints in the slightest of upsets....

GO LADY CAPS!

CNU's weak SOS is rearing its ugly head in these rankings...even though the CAC is solid, CNU needs to schedule a couple non-conference games against better competition.  We'll see how things play out on the court....

UMW by one at the half, 24-23 over MMT. Plenty of lead changes and plenty of turnovers.

bbald eagle

UMW 49 MMT 49 in regulation. Into OT.

UMW wins 56-54 over MMT and heads to CNU Saturday. Sorry I'll miss that game. Good luck to both teams, and then off to the NCAAs, I think.

Okay, bbald eagle, this one's for all the marbles and bragging rights...I think CNU takes it by the slimmest of margins, and I wouldn't be surprised if it went into overtime.  I'm pretty certain the loser will make the NCAA Tournament....

GO LADY CAPS!

I hope your prediction of the winner proves wrong  ;), but I'll have to read about the championship game on Sunday. I wonder if Marymount might squeak into the NCAAs too, depending on how the rest of the Region plays out their league tournament games.

I was wondering the same thing, but in looking at it a little more closely, I'd say they have a very slim chance...Catholic/Scranton and Albright/Messiah are playing for their respective conference championships, who are all ahead of Marymount in the regional rankings, so it will be tough.

I think Marymount and 2 Landmark teams behind them will get in if there are only a normal amount of AQ upsets.

Thanks for chiming in, ronk...I hope there aren't many upsets and you're right!

Been working on the MA and what I have said on Hoopsville is this: the region has the best chance to go "off the rankings" and have a team not ranked get to the table. HOWEVER, they have the best chance... but I don't think it will end up happening. If the rankings remained the same as now (which they won't, but for argument's sake)... I think Marymount and Moravian are in the bubble spots in this region. There is a steep drop between those ahead of them and those two teams in the region per criteria. Furthermore, I think those two go from favorable to unfavorable when you start comparing them to who may remain at the table in the rest of the country. Marymount has good data... so, they could do it. But it will be close. Moravian has an awesome SOS, but their vRRO is killing them (along with WL). It will be close.

Can't wait for mock selections on Sunday. :)
