The only article I could find...from the ODU perspective. But an impressive showing for CNU.

CNU loses by 7 at ODU...not a bad showing.

Especially since they appear to still be without Jessica Dagiulh.

Yep, and it looked like Byrd, Seaman and Thomas didn't play either....

Jessica missed the final weeks of last season so their NCAA run may have been better than it was. I ran across the CNU assistant at some spring AAU tourneys and asked about Jessica but it was too early to know at that time. Jessica was 1 of my prospects 4 years ago.

I thought she was the most improved player last year - her freshman to sophomore transformation was incredible - improved footwork and confidence, plus she looked to be in much better shape.  I was/am pretty excited to see if she can keep building on that improvement.

We'll see if she's been able to improve upon her quickness...I realize she's a "big", but I always felt like that was her achilles heel, if you will.

Just saw where JMU smoked the Lady Captains yesterday...I was expecting a little more from this group, but I guess they are D1, right?

D1 AND it was an exhibition where the Lady Captains I think are still not playing their full compliment of players/starters - but that is just going off memory without checking the box score (it's preseason and exhibition, I usually ignore the box score lol).

VA Tech xfer Kelly Koshuta had 20 for JMU; defending Kelly is a load for anyone, D1 or D3.

Just read where CNU's coach isn't sure if Daguilh and Byrd will play this year...I knew Daguilh was coming off an ACL injury towards the end of last season, but I have no idea what has happened to Byrd.  Geez, this is really disappointing news....

I talked to Broderick last night for my opening week column.  He said Byrd's been having some knee issues that are baffling medical science - they're kind of working on last chance treatment now, but they're unsure if she'll get to play again.

Daguilh was ACL, which can be up to a year.  He seemed pretty confident she'd be back at some point, but you never know how someone will recover from an injury like that.

Although close, I was surprised that Mary Washington beat out Marymount for 2nd place in the CAC preseason poll...I definitely think the Saints will be better than the Eagles.

GO LADY CAPS!

That was expected against BC...what wasn't expected, however, was a ranked Marymount losing at R-MC and a ranked Mary Washington losing at home to W&L.  Evidently, Marymount couldn't handle R-MC's big center, as she had 34 points...not sure what happened at Mary Washington, but that's a "not so good" loss for the Eagles.

Where's bbald eagle?

GO LADY CAPS!
