At the half in York...

Catholic 33-York 31. The halftime lead is the only lead of the game for the Cardinals. York has committed 13 turnovers in the game.

Keli Ward leads the Spartans with nine points.

I wasn't able to make the CUA @ York game, and dont know if the officials made or broke the game for either team, but I do have a small problem with the CAC officials. I know this isn't the ACC or Big East , but this is the second straight game CUA has had the same referee. And this is not the first time this has happened. CUA had the same referee for the MWU and St. Mary's game and now the same ref for the St. Mary's game and York game, if York's box score is correct. I don't know if this is usual or not but the one official did have an influence on the MWU and St. Mary's game.

That happens alot more than you think. The officials really didn't have any impact on the game tonight. York played very well in the second half and CUA couldn't answer York's late run.

By the way, the official Keli Ward for Rookie-of-the-Year bandwagon is filling up. Get on while there is still room.

Ward had another double-double tonight. She ranks first in the CAC in rebounding (8.7 rpg) as point guard, while she also ranks first in assists (5.6 apg), first in assist to turnover ratio (2.03-to-1), second in offensive rebounds, second in defensive rebounds, 11th in scoring, seventh in field goal percentage, fifth in free throw percentage, sixth in steals, and 14th in blocked shots (again, as a 5-5 point guard). She is a big reason when the youthful Spartans have won five of their last six.

Yeah,  the same official from tonight is not good, but she's not the blonde who they've had a bunch of games in a row who truly, truly is not watching the same game as everyone else.

I didn't see enough of this game to know what happened, but considering how well York played at Catholic (they had a sizeable lead and just kind of blew up at the end), I guess its not surprising they won.

Today is "boast about the seniors day" for UMW, Jenn Olinger for the women (team-high 16 with 4 threes) for the women and Mike "Mad Dog" Mattson for the men. Only one senior each on UMW's teams, and they both played great last night (as they both have of late).

If you're talking about the blonde who did the Catholic - Mary Washington game, she's as bad as they get.

York had an impressive win over Cathoic, which seems to be tough at home, but not as tough on the road.  Am I reading that right, or is something else going on?

The Marymount - Salisbury score last night was also an eyecatcher.

Congratulations to the UMW Eagles for winning the CAC regular season title. These next 4 games before the playoffs will all be tough (@ SAL, Frostburg, @MU, YCP) and great preparation for the playoffs.. Good Luck Ladies!

Yes, that's exactly who I'm talking about.  Catholic had her Saturday at SMC too where she was actually even worse.   It feels like she might as well just travel with the team because she does every game.  But then she appears to hate us, so that might be unpleasant.

I only saw her once (UMW - CUA) so I don't know what she did those other games.  She was consistently bad throughout the game I saw - I didn't think she favored one team, just was very bad.  If she "hates" anything, I'd have said it's the game of basketball she hates.

I definetly agree. The blonde official seems to not be paying attention during games. Aren't officials supposed to pay attention? ???
