congrats to the Catholic U Lady Cards on an outstanding victory last night over the Seagulls from Salisbury 88-77 in overtime in Salisbury..They showed the real meaning of playing with Heart and Determination to come from 19 down with 13 min to play to tie the game and eventually win ..some of the best double teaming and traps i've seen all year forcing the Seagulls to turn the ball over5-6 times in about a 90 sec span and Catholic responding with points on each occasion... Catholic returns to action for the final CAC regular season on Sat  vs Gallaudet at thr DuFour Center at 2:00.. again congrats to the lady Cards on a fine well deserved victory

Is that Robert E. Lee on the Right? :)

Yes, Suh.

The General still holds Marye's Heights and now defends Goolrick.  ;D

Hillbillies>? That's a General , Sir!  ::)

How about this gal leading the fast break!!
Liz Hickey - 18 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocked shots.

Congrats Eagles, you showed grit  ;)

Mary Washington sophomore Liz Hickey has already broken the school's single season block record (104, which she set as a frosh) with 114 so far this season.  ;D UMW junior Debbie Bruen has 999 career points.  :)

Oh, what an ass...correct me if I'm wrong, eaglepeople, but wasn't it senior night at Marymount?  The Marymount women's program is pretty damn proud, I would expect them to show up and BRING IT on their senior night.  Winning there is a good win for Mary Wash.  It was also a good win for Catholic.

It was Senior Night and a large, noisy crowd. Great experience under pressure to pull out the "W" on the road. I've also come to expect total inconsistency in Officiating from game to game. ::)
I may not always be Right........But I'm never Wrong!

I just want to say how consistent the inconsistency of the officiating was at Salisbury, again.  Both teams had to fight against each other, and the referee's.  At one point, the offials got numbers mixed up and tried to give a foul to a girl that was not even in the game.  I believe this is how it worked:  The foul was on Laura Kaye and they gave the foul to Kristen Linderoth.  After a discussion the tried to give the foul to Gloria Schnepp, who was not even in the game at the time (she had just subbed in).  After 5 minutes, they FINALLY gave the foul to Laura Kaye.  I do want to give Salisbury lots of credit.  They dominated for the whole first half and some of the second half (if not most).  Catholic's bench came out and played last night.  They shut down the Sea Gulls when they first came in, something the starters couldn't.  Gloria Schnepp had a terrific game and showed lots of heart. Maria Rojas showed tremendous composure and fought back at the end of the game.  Coach Carey should be very pleased with the performance of her team in the last 12 minutesor so of the game.  Catholic will have tremendous momentum going into the CAC tournament with the win last night and Gallaudet at home Saturday. They should get Goucher at home Tuesday in a game they should win.
Go Cards!!!

Glad to see that the CAC fans are just as wiley over on the women's board.
You just can't touch undefeated.....

Plus, I'm in love with Debbie Bruen!   :-*

And catholic fans always think its 9 on 5 in every contest.. with the 6th-9th man being the refs

mwgoonie

Clint,

how many double doubles has Liz had this year?

mwcsid

Seven double-doubles, including one triple-double (and again, I'll bring it up, not playing more than 22 minutes a game). My favorite was the W&L game... A double-double in rebounds and blocks.

Three doub-doubs in the last four games, she is certainly picking it up at the right time. Way to go Liz!

I'm pretty sure most Catholic fans can add five and three and get eight, not nine.

mwgoonie

also, Pete the ref tells me I can't add either.

Pat all over my mistakes.......

When Catholic plays Marymount, they probably feel like Coach Finney is the fourth ref.  ::)  Does anyone in the league work the refs better than Coach Finney?

ycp

From Fredericksburg...

With about 6 minutes left in the first, 29-14 UMW over YCP.
The Eagles started the game with a 21-4 run (I believe, Clint can correct that if it is wrong).
