Not true. The credit for the success of St. Mary's Women's Basketball Team goes to the team, as well as their former coach.  It was their dedication and talent along with Hambrose's skill in recruiting and coaching that made St. Mary's who they are today.  It had nothing to do with a new coach.  Any one can step into that situation and look good.   One could even coach blind folded and find success. Congratulations SMCM on a great season! You even managed to put the Eagles in their nest!

doubledribble2, are you former coach Hambrose's mom?  While no-one in the preceding posts said anything about what SMCM owes their current success to, a brief review of the past years' records indicates that the new coach took them a giant step forward.  Conversely, Salisbury's record took a giant step backward this year with their new coach.   A great coach can make a team great.  Mary Wash and MMT are prime examples of that.  I will agree with you on one thing though -- SMCM had a terrific season and the girls and their new coach deserve congratulations.

Anytime that a team gets a new coach, there is a period of adjustment.  Convincing a team of the previous coach's recruits that your system will work, must be a daunting task.

From the records, it looks like the Salisbury coach has succeded.

Good luck to all the remaining teams. Of course, as an Eagles fan, I will cheer for them, but for all of you DIII players, good luck!

Nobody will ever convince me that any other athletes have bigger hearts or love of the game than a DIII athlete. No scholarships, very little press or local recognition, none of the bells and whistles that scholarshiped athletes get. Yet day after day they put it all out there and NEVER give up!

Hoods players last night are a prime example. They only dressed six players and all of them played their hearts out.  With a little over a minute left, the second player fouled out, leaving four on the floor.  They played hard for fourty minutes .

Gotta love it!

Go Eagles....Mama loves you all!

York's Kristen Daly finished her fine career yesterday. Good effort by York but they were overmatched.

I'm betting Marymount gets to dance even with a loss tomorrow.

So fickle...
The bald eagles say "We want live stats!" so we deliver, and now that d3hoops audio comes along, it's bye bye Clintie.
I see how it is.

touchy, touchy.  ;)

any reason we can't listen to D3 while watching Clintie's live stats?  :D

Anxiously awaiting the doubleheader at Goolrick tomorrow. Will probably have to park at Central Park! With the men's game first the place will be rockin'! Yeah, I know it's a small venue, but its still the home of the Eagles. Always look to the costumes but since it has been the men's team in wigs and warpaint, will the UMW students step up!  Can't just have the St. Bernard and THE EAGLE.

Couldn't let the valiant effort by York go by, though.  Always a tough team and Kristen Daly will surely be missed. York kept it close in the first half, but in the second it was Mary Washington all the way.

On to the next one Eagles!  Marymount.........
