Well, seeing as it made no effort at balance or even an attempt to contact anyone with Mary Washington or the NCAA, I don't think it clears anything up. It's just a bunch of allegations and no corroboration.

This doesn't rise to the level of journalism. Trust me.

The William M. Anderson Center, the University of Mary Washington's new basketball and volleyball facility, is set to be completed by the fall of 2010 with a capacity of 2,000. Take a virtual tour

Has ground been broken?

I only ask because I have seen plans for Mary Washington's new building since, literally, 1994.

Nope. Construction is supposed to start in summer 2009.

Here's a newspaper story from last month on all the construction and expansion at UMW

It puts the opening of Anderson Center in Spring 2010, not fall ;-)

 mamadukes!
Since bbald ignored my last post.  I will ask you this.
How did Ashton's acl rehab go?
Will she play this year?

mamadukes

Pre-season strength and conditioning has begun and all is well with the Eagles. Lost a lot last year, but I hear the "newbies" are big and bad!
It's my understanding that Ashton is rehabbing well. She has more guts than any player I've ever seen, so she should have an outstanding senior year.  Let's get this party started!

Balder Eagle

 ;D

Thank you mamadukes

Good News!  (did the party ever let up?:o)

mamadukes

 :D
I hope the party NEVER stops!  The growth and success of the Women's Basketball program has ben phenomenal!
The new facility looks great. It's certainly taken long enough.  I just have one question of our friend there.....are those the actual pictures you plan to use on the walls? ;)
Sure would be nice!

Better check that EMU roster!  I hear that Riley is gone! without her not sure they are a 5th placer.

I also heard that Riley has left and went back to Marymount.

If those two posters are accurate, the return of Carolyn Riley to Marymount could have a large impact in the CAC. She's an impact player.

Marymount has to be the preseason favorite in the CAC, and probably should be in the D3 preseason Top 25, too.  UMW's lost too much to be the preseason favorite, and York's lost Daly.

#1078
Nice position for the UMW Eagles in DIII Polls. Not #1 like last year, but this is a different team. Lots of room for "movin' on up."
Other than  the return of Carolyn Riley to Marymount, how are the other CAA schools faring?

hoop junkie

Wow, no Mary Washington in the top 25, thats truly a surprise. Any updates and previews on the upcoming season. November is here.
