New contest idea ... predict the Pool C berth teams, starting well before season's end.

For each of the five Mondays leading up to (and including) Selection Monday, pick the 20 teams that you expect to receive Pool C berths.  One point for each eventually-correct pick each week, for a total of 100 possible points.

This gets tricky because good teams are clearly more likely to get in the tournament, but often also more likely to win Pool A bids, removing them from Pool C consideration.

Maybe you get half points if they get in with Pool A?

Either way, I'm down for this and would love it.

Gregory Sager

Sounds interesting. Count me in.

That's a good challenge to guess what team would get the Pool A, so not getting points for that Pool A is part of figuring out and guessing who'd get the Pool C...upsets and all.

My thought in only giving points for actual Pool C teams was to increase the strategy involved, having to think through which conference leaders might be more likely to get upset in their conference tournaments.

Yeah, that was my line of thinking.

Deadline of noon Monday each week?

Smitty Oom

Yeah I'm down with any rules. I was just spit balling. Noon Monday deadline sounds good to me.
