18 does seem like a lot!  Maybe 15-16 as a compromise?

18 rounds is 180 teams. There's about 40 conferences that are eligible. You have to think 4 or 5 teams from each conference are competing for the top 3 spots. That's 160-200 teams. 18 is fine.

Correct, 18 is a good number. Dig a little bit people, there easily 100 more draftable teams not yet selected.

Note: If the scoring system is the same as listed on page one, points are gained for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. As of right now their are 23 conferences that don't have 3 teams selected, 6 conferences that don't even have 2 teams selected. Many of the wide open conference races have value as much half dozen deep. A lot left on the draft board.
