This poll always need to be taken with a grain of salt given that is entirely based off previous results. Given that a whole year has gone by due to the pandemic that is especially true in this case. I think going into the year Amherst have to be big favorites assuming German returns from his Europa league escapades. This is a national championship or bust season for coach Serpone.  Tufts should be right up there again along with the usual suspects Messiah and Calvin. Do any of the Messiah insiders know if there "super senior" class is returning for the fall?

Yes. Apparently it is the first time Washington and Lee has been ranked #1 in all 3 polls. (UCC, Massey, and d3soccer)

Messiah, just on SoS I would think should be ranked above Hopkins. That said, I have to keep reminding myself that St. Mary's was #3 when Hop took them down last week. Pretty precipitous fall for the Seahawks, who drop out of the Top 25 by following up the loss in B'more with a 3-2 loss to PSU-Harrisburg.

Pretty sure it is the first time they've been 1 in any of them.

Congrats to W&L!  Being #1 in both polls (I don't personally view Massey as a poll and imo often wildly inaccurate if one does) is a huge deal for the program.  Aside from Messiah, Tufts and Amherst I would say W&L has as good a chance at reaching the Final 4 and possibly winning a title as anyone.  Regardless of how this year turns out, getting to #1 or #2 for a program that hasn't been at those heights changes a program, especially if the ranking can be sustained for at least a few weeks straight.

Yes, it's not a poll at all. Nobody votes on it. It's a ranking based upon a computerized algorithm developed by a guy named Ken Massey.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm constantly getting 404 errors and other weirdness on that site on Tuesdays. I just gave up on using it for my Region V/Mid-Atlantic rankings Games of Note stuff.
