Colorado College lead Trinity 1-0 midway through the first half on an absolute screamer from Alex Meyerhoff.

I haven't been able to watch, but LiveStats shows Colorado College is up 2-0 in the 62nd minute after a Trinity own goal near the end of the first half.  Trinity has a big hill to climb in this one.

And 3-0. CC on their to handing Trinity their second conference loss and taking full control of the SCAC.

Not quite done with Trinity pulling one goal back. It's now 3-1 in the 79th, but I agree that Colorado College is making a statement here.

Squeaky bum time for CC.  Trinity scores in the 85th and it's 3-2

Texas Lutheran 4 - Austin 2

The result isn't surprising, but the lineup did provide some information about player suspensions.  Both Noah Harris and Louis Hart, who got red cards in the St. Thomas game and missed the Colorado College game that followed, were back for this game.  The starting GK, Noel Pena, who got a red card for head butting a St. Thomas player, was still out.  At least freshman Aiden Page, who melted down on the D3 Men's soccer equivalent of national TV when he came on late against St. Thomas, and then had to play at Colorado College, got the first win of his college career in this game.  And, if anyone is keeping count, there were 9 yellows in the game, 7 against Austin, including one double yellow against an Austin player.  Austin also was called for 20 fouls compared to 10 for Austin.  TLU goes to 13-2 overall and 4-2 in conference.  They have 1 more tough-ish game left against Southwestern and another relative gimme against University of Dallas.  Wonder if it will be enough for a Pool C bid if they don't win, or advance far, in the SCAC tournament.

Taty Aleman is back and has a hat-trick... Matthew Turner also returns to the lineup in what appears to be a senior heavy XI, without checking.

Make that a 5 goal outing as UST leads 7-1 with under 15' to play.

A rested Aleman with something to prove against an undermanned opponent is a dangerous combination!  5 goals on 7 shots on goal!

Note that Diego Garcia, whose foul sent the TLU player to the hospital, appears to still be out

Trinity @ Colorado Game Notes

Thanks for the notes!  Would have loved to have been there in beautiful Colorado.  Tough loss for TU.

Afternoon results of note in Region X:

Pomona-Pitzer 5 - Cal Tech 2

Cal Tech loses again in its bid for another win and Pomona-Pitzer gets revenge for a loss to Cal Tech earlier in the season, blowing up a close 1-1 game at halftime to score 4 goals in the second half and cruise to victory.  This is another game where Cal Tech simply has run out of steam, literally and figuratively.  They played 1 sub the whole game (a second sub got one minute).  They kept it tight as long as they could, but it's tough to compete on a warm afternoon when 8 of the 11 players are getting 90 minutes, three are getting 75 minutes, and P-P is only playing 3 full 90s and using 8 subs, 7 of whom played double digit minutes.

Pacific Lutheran 7 - George Fox 0

Not a surprising result, but combined with the Willamette game described below, the Lutes have opened up an 8 point lead over Whitworth (which has lost twice to Pacific Lutheran) in the conference and a 10 point lead on Willamette (which plays Pacific Lutheran in the last game of the season).  Unless something goes very wrong for PLU, I don't see how anyone can catch them for the automatic bid in the NWC, which doesn't have a conference tournament.

Puget Sound 3 - Willamette 1

Wilamette is all but done and dusted.  Only a late goal in the 88th minute saves them the embarrassment of a shutout in this game against 6-3-4 Puget Sound, which is only 3 points behind Willamette for third in the conference.  It's not impossible to catch Pacific Lutheran, but they basically have to win the rest of their games, including away at the Whits and home to Pacific Lutheran, to do it.

Whitman 0 - Pacific 0

Same issue for Whitman as Willamette, except Whitman has an easier schedule the remainder of the conference season (although fewer games).

One other game worth noting, not for the result, but for the trend:

Linfield 5 - Lewis & Clark 1

Lewis & Clark is now 0-15.  They were 0-7 last year.  They are 0-22 since they re-started the team last year.  I know this is a long-term project, but I'm not sure that having the Lewis & Clark women's coaches also coach the men's team is a recipe for success for a team starting from scratch.  They do have a freshman from CA, Nadav Dickovski, who has potential and is their leading scorer with 3 goals, and a few other freshman who are decent (particularly Nathanial Pi-Sunyer, another California native), but this season is going to test the patience of everyone.

A few evening games of note in the SCIAC

Redlands 5 - Chapman 0

Redlands bounced back from a tie with Cal Lu in a convincing win as Chapman falls back after beating Cal Tech.

Occidental 2 - Whittier 1

Oxy's offense still isn't back to where it was earlier in the season, but they get the win

La Verne 3 - Cal Lutheran 2

This is a surprise, but La Verne has been trending upward lately

A few results of note in the ASC:

Mary Hardin-Baylor 2 - McMurry 0

The result was expected, but noteworthy because it means MHB clinches the ASC title with this win and the other results in conference.  One extremely unusual stat, especially in light of other games in Texas lately, is that there were ZERO (non, nada, zilch) fouls called on either team according to the official box score, but the ref gave out three yellow cards in the game.  Perhaps someone who watched the game can confirm (@BTXCru18?).    Theoretically, you can get yellow cards for dissent or something like that without a foul being called, but I don't think I've seen a soccer game at any level above U10 or U12 go an entire game without a single foul being called and if there was a game that clean it would be highly unusual for 1 yellow card to be called, let alone three.  Maybe @College Soccer Observer can comment on this.  The box score looks suspicious in one other respect -- it lists attendance as 1 (as in one single solitary person).  I know that McMurry has had a tough season (2-6-5 and 1-2-2 in the ASC), but there must be more than one mother who loves her son and lives close enough to Abilene to attend.  Attendance of 1 is sufficiently implausible even on a Friday night to wonder if the scorer also missed a few fouls while only having eyes for that one special fan.

Concordia TX 0 - Hardin-Simmons 0

Unlike the MHB-McMurry match, this one had a decent number of fouls and a second yellow card for a Concordia player in the last minute of the game.  Hardin-Simmons may have missed JJ Sisson, who was out because of a red card in the prior game.
With this result, Concordia concedes the regular season title to MHB because both teams only have one game to play (against each other) and MHB holds a 5 point lead.  Concordia isn't locked into 2d seed, though, because Hardin-Simmons is five points behind Concordia in third and has two games remaining, while Concordia only has one.  Hardin-Simmons is only one point ahead of UT Dallas, so it also isn't locked into third, which also has two games remaining as well as teams jockey for conference tourney seeding.

UT Dallas 1 - LeTourneau 1

Disappointing result for UTD, which at one point (after its win over Colorado College) looked like it might actually contend for the ASC title.  Unlike the MHB-McMurry game, this one had plenty of fouls and one red card to a LeTourneau player in the 78th minute.  UTD scored 20 seconds after the red card to tie the game.

6 teams from the ASC make the conference tournament, so most of these games are about seeding.  The top four teams of MHB, Concordia, H-S and UTD are in, but a bunch of other teams are fighting at the bottom for the last two spots.  Ozarks beat East Texas Baptist 2-0 to claim the fifth spot for now and McMurry clings to the sixth spot after Howard Payne (in 7th) tied Sul Ross State.

Interesting observation in the McM-UMHB box score... I was at this one as well and can confirm there were definitely fouls called(unsure on how many) and definitely more than 1 fan in attendance. Something I know for certain from my SID intern days is that you're supposed to count all officials, staff and players in attendance as well. I'd imagine there were close to 150 total in the stadium. Not to bash McMurry as they maybe can't help this, but they've historically been underfunded and understaffed. A lot of times there is no stream or livestats available for their home games, so the incorrect box score is likely a result of this.

A few results of note from the NWC:

Pacific Lutheran 2 - Linfield 0

PLU avenges an early season 0-0 tie to Linfield for its sixth win in a row and is now 11-1-4 overall and 10-0-2 in the NWC.  It hasn't clinched yet because it has 4 regular season games left, as does second place Whitworth, which is 8 points behind the Lutes, but it's getting close.

Whitworth 1 - Pacific 0

Whitworth keeps pace with PLU, but it has to hope PLU stumbles badly if it is going to make up the necessary ground.

George Fox 2 - Willamette 1

Big win for George Fox, which lost to Willamette 6-0 first game this season.  I had to check to see whether Willamette had officially given up this year and was preparing for next season by playing its youth, but that wasn't the case.  That's two losses in a row and Willamette is at risk of not even finishing with a winning record in conference.  It is currently 6-5-1 in the NWC with games remaining against Whitman, Whitworth, Pacific Lutheran and Pacific.

Puget Sound 3 - Lewis & Clark 1

The noteworthy part of this isn't that Puget Sound won or that Lewis & Clark lost - it's the 23rd game in a row over two seasons that L&C have lost and it is currently 0-16 in 2023.  There are glimmers of improvement, though.  For the first time ever in the L&C re-birth, Lewis & Clark held a lead in a game.  Nadav Dicovski scored in the 8th minute to give Lewis & Clark a 1-0 lead (Dicovski has scored 4 of the 6 Lewis & Clark goals this year)!  It was short-lived as Puget Sound tied it up in the 17th minute and scored two more in the 31st and 35th minutes.  Nevertheless, for 9 minutes Lewis & Clark had a bona fide lead in a real game.  Plus, for only the third team in 16 games this year, Lewis & Clark held an opponent to 3 goals or less.  Progress!
