It is a grueling event when you get to the Division III World Series, for sure. But baseball is actually maybe easier to win than most. Some food for thought:

In the automatic bid era, starting fall of 1999:

Seven conferences have had teams win the football national title.
Eleven conferences have had teams win the men's basketball national title.
Thirteen conferences have had teams win the women's basketball national title.
Fifteen conferences have had teams win the baseball national title.

Hi Kate:
Hope all is well.
I'm sure DV will have you on the selection committee to replace Coach Hogan (at least they should)...think any alums that are coaching elsewhere want to head back to where it all started?

Hi Saratoga, can you imagine how bummed I was and still am this morning after reading the news on here yesterday.   Such a lovely human being and fantastic Coach!   So, so many memories starting back to the 97-98 season!   We hardly missed a home game until age and that rotten pandemic.   I am so glad that we got to the final game of the season this past year.   She was a tremendous representative for the University and whoever DVU hires, they will have some huge shoes to fill.   Thank you so much for thinking about me.   Good luck to Scranton this coming season.

kate

Saratoga you were 100% right - Del Val has hired Lauren Snyder Stackhouse as our new Coach at Del Val!   She graduated from the school in 2002 and has coached on several levels ever since.   Lovely person and an exceptional b'ball player.   Her bio is up on Del Val's site.   I could not be happier about the choice!!!

Great to hear Kate.
If you're happy, we're happy.
All the best this year, looks like she'll be pretty well connected in Philly & the greater Delaware Valley.

Geez, 5 days away from their opening tipoff...maybe Kings will post their 2024/25 roster one of these days.  ::)

They're one of only 26 WBB teams that have not posted their roster yet, and the only from the MACF or MACC.

I'd venture to guess they had another less than stellar year on the recruiting side.
But, I guess we'll never know as long as they never post it.  ;)

Thanks Scottie.
I just happened to check about 10 minutes ago & saw it was finally up.
Impressive.  ;)
Kings sure has a lot of coaches for a school that may win about 8 games.

Hi Saratoga!   King's Coach Caitlin H. happens to be a grad of my high school, Belvidere!!!   She also graduated from Marywood, one of your Scranton schools, but to boot, she's definitely one of the good ones!!!   It really breaks my heart that Hubby & I won't be live in Lancaster on Saturday for OUR brand new Coach, Lauren Snyder Stackhouse, DVC class of 2002!   You'd better believe we'll be watching on here.   Good Luck to Scranton this season - have to admit, I haven't checked out your schedule or roster yet, but as the season gets rolling, I will.   Widener with our very own Alisa DiBonaventura opens with a tourney in your E'town on Friday night.   Anxious to see the stats on the Elias twins at E'town!

All the best with your season Kate & I think your new coach will really do a nice job once she has a few years to start bringing in the students that match well with her style of play.
Enjoy the games & hopefully, you & your husband can make it down to D-town for some live action this year.
In the meantime, stay safe & healthy.

Huge Congratulations to new Aggie Head Coach, Lauren Stackhouse, for her first Collegiate win this afternoon!   Del Val beat Lancaster Bible College in that first game of the 1924/25 Season - way to go Team & Coaches!!!

saratoga

Hi Kate,
A nice start to hopefully a long and successful career in Aggieland.  :)

kate

Thank you Saratoga!   Just realized I had typed 1924 & not 2024 - wow, does that show you how old I'm getting??? ugh!   I noticed that in the near future New Jersey City plays Scranton.   They have our transfer, Kendra Rico out of Bethlehem Catholic.   She does play well, so watch her!   Thanks again for the congrats for DVU!
