PN keep sleeping on your sleeper.

Also of interest is the Boston/Cambridge Darby MIT (6-4-1, 4-0)v Emerson (7-4-2, 0-3) Last year Emerson had a miraculous win in the NEWMAC semi over MIT and now must win to have any chance of making the conf tournament. MIT is playing for conf tournament bye and home field.

camosfan

Iam going to take Emerson in this one!

SKUD

I'll take the Brainiacs over the artists.

@SierraFD3soccer Funny thing happened on our drive up to Chestertown today.  Son and I got to talking about F&M, and he says he knows one of the players--someone named Koa.  Evidently he was in the same club, they trained together in the past, and my son's current club coach was also his.  I told him I had seen some of his highlights, and he agreed he was a good player and had his coach's influence.  Small world.

Was a great drive up.  As a Baltimoron an MD native from the road I pointed out to my son where my grandparents used to live, my cousin was married, and a golf course I once played.  Of course he didn't hear anything because his AirPods were glued to his ears.

About to head over to the game soon.  Hoping it lives up to expectations. Hon.

Hahaha. Always great going down memory lane with your kids. Had the same with my kids when we've gone back to PA. Just flies over their heads which is fine. I was felt I was just lucky to remember all that stuff.

Yes, Koa Kaliebe.  Great player and even better kid.  Super, super quick along with a great ball handler. Really breaks some ankles as well as chasing down some unbelievable balls. D1 talent but off the bench if he was in a D1 program. Oscar Horowitz just got the F&M scoring record with 18 goals this year and many were because Koa sucks up players when he has the ball leaving Oscar wide open. Koa is having a great year with 8 assists along with 8 goals.  He is a junior from Cary, NC as you probably already know. Do you all know Brian Morgan, Coerver coach in your area?  He also knows Koa.  Brian was my son's JV HS coach back in the day.  Very interesting sense of humor which my son loved. One of those tough love coaches.

If you are going to the JHU v. WC game, that should be great as both teams have a whole lot on the line. Almost definite must win for JHU. A lot of students may show up (always the case when they play F&M) and it can get a little salty and fun.  Nice field and very nice campus. Another connection is that my son's HS coach who runs Coerver in the MD VA area (and Brian Morgan's former boss) used to coach with WC's coach Roy Dunshee who is great guy and one of the few coaches who my son and I believe what he says.  Our son's HS coach succeeded Roy when WC hired him. Roy was running Coerver at the time with him.  Roy is also a really good guy and really doing well with WC.  They have turned the corner the last couple of years as they used to have a tough road in Cent. Conf. Should be a beautiful night in Chestertown.

Major confession...when my kid was 7 or 8 and I thought being the best player in our little town meant he was one of the best players in the state (and he wasn't), I bought all of the Coerver tapes.  Also bought the video of Pele working out with 1950s era equipment and juggling grapefruits.  After watching the latter I went straight to the grocery store and bought some grapefruits and had my son trying to juggle grapefruits in the front yard.  Total insanity...and the saddest part of all is that I can't wait to try again with a grandkid.

Hahaha. Some day for me as well maybe.  Might be a bit old though by then, but I'll still be able to get to the supermarket hopefully!

Coerver was one of the reasons why my son did not go DA when that began became a thing.  Plus he had a really, really strong USYS team, Balt. Celtic (made up of Balt. private school kids coached by McDonough and Mt. St. Joes coaches along with my son and one or two others who were very good players). FYI, Balt. Celtic does exist but not so much now.

So his HS school coach was a professional coach with his Coerver business along with his assist. coach which was very, very different than most HS programs. They always went deep in the MD large HS playoffs. Son as a GK was well ahead of his peers with his feet and soccer IQ because he did Coerver from an early age. Plus  free Coerver training for a 3 months or so every a year.

Loras @Luther did not disappoint.  Loras takes it 1-0.  Second half Loras pressed for the equalizer, but Loras proved to be stingy on the  night.

The name doesn't ring a bell, but I'm old and losing my memory.  I'll ask my son.  There's a good chance he may know of him if he is in the area.  And it was a great night and a good game to watch live.

Battle for the Century/Centennial Conference

10/28 F&M v. Washington College. F&M has a point on WC for the Cent Conf regular season title.  Battle of one lose teams. Win or tie F&M gets it done. Both teams have separated from 3rd place. Should be a great game!

Who are you picking? Do you have a player in the game?
