Who are you picking? Do you have a player in the game?

So connections to both teams. Son just graduated and played at F&M. Roy Dunshee, WC coach, great guy and very good coach,  started the upward trend at my son's HS soccer team (his assistant took over and coached my son).  Roy also still has ties in our Maryland area. FYI feel the same about Coach Wagner.

Based on the season, I'm going with F&M. They have been able generate offense all season and even down. Hard to pick against them. Also F&M has been getting better defensively so they may have arrived at the end of the season as a complete team.

WC beat F&M twice at WC  two years ago and they played really well against the Muhls. So I would say 51% in F&Ms favor.

Battle for the Century/Centennial Conference

10/28 F&M v. Washington College. F&M has a point on WC for the Cent Conf regular season title.  Battle of one lose teams. Win or tie F&M gets it done. Both teams have separated from 3rd place. Should be a great game!

Battle for the Main Line

This game will potentially mean a lot and could be considered a playoff game before the playoffs. Haverford v. Swarthmore. Old time bitter rivals, dating way back. Teams are in the 5th and 6th playoff spots and have tied conference records.  Whoever wins will be the 5th seed.  The loser could possibly be overtaken by Dickinson, if Dickinson, on its slow grass and they play like they did against Messiah, upsets Hopkins on Saturday.

Saturday's game SLU vs Hobart.  Winner takes first.  Loser may come in 3rd or 4th in the conference.

Don't jinx us Sierra! i'll be there Saturday night. Daughter goes to Dickinson so I have promised to embarrass her by wearing as much Hopkins paraphernalia and cheering as loudly as possible.

If you have time to watch, crazy game! From Kuiper -

UPDATE:  St. Thomas 2 - Trinity 1

After Taty Aleman goes out with a knock, Daniel Castro settles a cross in the box and shoots a left footed ball over the GK and under the crossbar to put the Celts ahead.

UPDATE:  St. Thomas 2 - Trinity 2

Meese scores a rebound on a free kick to tie it up

One thing that is clear in this game is that both teams have top class strikers and offensive play generally and both teams have undersized GKs who make things a little more difficult for the defense on high balls into the box.  A taller GK could have done better on Trinity's goal in this case.

Update:  Trinity 3 - St. Thomas 2

Adjei scores on a 1 v. 1 in a counter attack and Trinity retakes the lead.

Thrilla in Manilla territory now

If you are looking for a fun matchup, tune into the Macalester Augsburg match.  Just a great second half so far.  Augsburg really pressing.
