I always enjoyed the conference tournament central that was on d3soccer.com, so I created my own version. All the information on the AQ comes directly from the D3 Soccer Pre-Championships Manual. The first sheet has each conference, their region, how the AQ is determined, then eventually which team earned it. The second sheet has each conference tournament game with the seeds, dates, and teams and will be updated after each round.

Couple questions: The manual stated the AQ for the C2C is the regular season champion but that feels wrong. Also, the HCAC also states regular season champion, but I believe last year was determined by the tournament champion and I could not find a conference handbook anywhere.

Let me know if there are any issues! Doing everything by hand with no automation so there is definitely room for error.

Thank you for doing this! This was an amazing feature on the d3soccer website and I'm glad to have a central place to follow along with the conference tournaments.

Hey OACAlum -

Love this.  Any chance if I posted this on D3Soccer.Fans?  Will give you full attribution of course.  No way i would have the time to do this.  Let me know.

Thanks so much for doing this!

While I am not a C2C expert, I would find it absolutely bonkers if that league's AQ was the "regular season" when traditionally the California and Wisconsin teams don't play the east coast teams until the actual end of year tournament.

The Wisconsin teams are no longer in C2C. UMW, Salisbury, UCSC and CNU are the four teams this year in the conference tournament. There is another team in North Carolina (Warren Wilson) that had their season cancelled due to the flooding

Hopkins92

Right, I get that, but my point is that traditionally most of these teams don't meet up until the tournament.

For the HCAC, I can tell you that in 2021, Rose-Hulman won the regular season and Hanover won the tournament and only Hanover made the dance.

The 2023 Pre-Championships Manual had both the HCAC and C2C AQ as the Regular Season Champion. Manchester won the HCAC regular season last year and did not make the NCAA tourney so I think it's just incorrectly labeled somehow. The C2C obviously doesn't make sense having the AQ as the Regular Season Champion as all of the teams wouldn't have played each other before the conference tournament.

I heard a few years ago that Salisbury was close to joining the NJAC.  Football is already in the NJAC and now that New Paltz in joining next year, maybe it won't be long before Salisbury joins as well.

It's possible. But I suspect unless Salisbury finds another home for football and threatens to pull out of the one sport the NJAC really needs them for, the NJAC doesn't have much interest. New Paltz whole reason for joining was shorter travel, and there is nothing short about a trip to Salisbury for any of the NJAC schools. It's a marriage of convenience for football, same with CNU. But the NJAC schools aren't going to want to make that trip any more than is strictly necessary.

My daughter played for Hanover many years ago and I still follow the women's team closely. The HCAC's AQ always seemed to be a question as Chris Shirk and I put together the Conference Championship page on D3soccer.com. The AQ goes the tournament champion.

The C2C uses NPI for the conference tournament seeding. I guess it is possible that they made the change to "reg season" after the loss of the Wisconsin teams which would just be the highest ranked team. But if they did then there would be no real incentive for UCSC to make the trip other than a chance to get the bump in NPI if they can win both games.

In a conference in which the teams do not play each other in games before the conference tournament that count as "conference games," isn't the conference tournament their version of the regular season?  After all, a conference could choose to run its regular season like a tournament, with winners brackets and losers brackets etc so everyone gets the same number of games.

Per the C2C Championship Guidebook, the conference tournament champion is the AQ for the C2C

7. Single-Elimination Postseason Tournament
a. Host Rotation: 2024 - UMW; 2025 – CNU
b. All teams are invited to the C2C postseason tournament
c. The C2C Champion gains an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament
