Sorry Watch.  See what happens when I try to make a quick buck by renting something I don't own.  Any bidders for my backup Bandwagon?  It's lighter so it gets even better gas mileage and this time I'll throw in the band.

Everyone loves playoff time and I'm excited that it is almost upon us. I took the last few days off from here to get my mind straight so I don't make any more stupid mistakes or assumptions. Anyway we're going to get an early taste of playoff atmosphere Saturday over at St. Thomas. It should be a good time and hopefully an even better game. On too playoffs, I see Bethel and Carelton advancing on to Wed. I think Carleton will get the job done they made the tourney last year and I think they're itching to have another shot at St. Thomas. I think Gustavus will be looking forward to that game a little too much and I think Carelton will prevail. Even though GAC just beat St. Thomas at home, I'm picking Carelton in the upset. As for the other QF Bethel plays way to well at home and will be ready to play in front of the craziest student section in the conference. Be prepared for a white out in the Robertson Center on Monday. Yes we are talking about playoffs.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Sum-- congrats on #1000...I always enjoy your posts, even though you see basketball through red tinted glasses. Maybe tomorrow will clear your vision.

Less than //24 hours till tip-off of what is probably one of the biggest and most meaningful UST-SJU hoops battles of all time. I see UST by 75-72, in possibly an OT or 2. I think this could be the 2nd year ever that the 2 play 4 times-- 2 in reg season, 1 in MIAC Playoffs and 1 more in NCAAs. Just like the last time they met 4x, I see UST winning 3 of 4.

The scoring title is wide open. I follow your logic, Nites, but your stats are off. The only games that count for scoring title are conference games. The trio all have 379 points in 19 games. I'm biased, but I think Linz has probably the easiest match-up Sat, going against SMU. He should get 24-25. Schnettler is in excellent position to win it. Yes, SJU held him to a handful of shots last time. It will take a super defensive effort to do that again, and I just don't see it happening. My hunch tells me he gets 22-25, and hopefully 3 or more FT, so he is back among the national leaders.  Madson may have his PT shortened to rest him some for Monday, and he is also going against a tough Auggie "D" (at least tough at the perimeter), but I see him getting his 20.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Maniac, Not to get ahead of ourselves but, I will, Say SJU and UST get to the NCAA's would they end up playing in the same place? For example, when SJU wins all 3 of the games  ;D would they possibly host a 4 team sectional?

Tomorrow it will be Mike Keating.

He is the difference maker.

Yes they did, I had forgotten sorry Cmob that seems like ages ago for your Knights. Last year they had a young man named Dan Forkrud to carry them Zach Johnson hasn't done that this year. CAR is one and done this year.

Yawn, stretch.  Dang, who schedules meetings Friday afternoon?!?  Let me wipe the sleep out of my eye - anything going hoops wise this weekend?!?  :P ::) ;D

By my unofficial count, in the posting war of the words I've got:

Tommies (2) (3)
Johnnies (2) (Sum- I think you better call in the troops  ;))

Tommies

A-Snow: Sum-as a gesture of sportsmanship, we even reserved a parking spot for the johnnie wagon.  You should find it pretty easily. It's behind the ladies bathroom next to the dumpster.

Mose: Sum-- congrats on #1000...I always enjoy your posts, even though you see basketball through red tinted glasses. Maybe tomorrow will clear your vision.

Bow: We'll see about that sumander.  The cats will eat the rats!

Johnnies

Sum: I also felt obligated to respond to A-Snows offer of a parking spot for the band wagon. Thanks man but, We'll park the SJU Bandwagon any where we damn well please!

Sum: UST Johnnies win, Johnnie Tommie fans go back up north and cry. Pout

Thanks, MIAC.  I didn't realize that they used conference only stats.

Snow- that parking spot is taken, but if you will arrange for compressing of the porta-potty (aka the SJU bandwagon) we can store it in my ashtray...I'm feeling magnanimous

L-bow-- I think you hit it on the head....Keating must play better than he did up in C-ville, and I am certain he will. I expect 20+ each from MK, Ike and Schnetts. (or a bucket each for every "witty" johnnie remark posted on here)

* What's the difference between a femail UST student and a Bennie?

Who to cheer for tomorrow?

On one hand I want UST to win because they would likely host and I'll be in Eden Prairie that Saturday.

On the other hand the past two times the cookout has been on Summit, one day the temp dropped 30 degrees during the cookout and the other time TH4L and me had to go in early to not lose a toe. Maybe the weather would be better in Collegeville.

Go UST! or BET!

maniac you are in a true tommy-johnnie fever.  first you drop bombs like "magnanimous" and then there is the radical new spelling of "femail."

and between bathrooms, porta-potties, farts, and dropping bombs, it paints a whole new picture of what "johns" really are.
