Greetings to Olinemom,

That was a gret pic of you and Brez that was posted.  Glad to hear you are planning to come the Marriott to enjoy some evening festivities with the UWW fans.

Thanks for all the kind words this year about Pete.  Let's hope for a big game.  You are a true Warhawk fan and 84's dad thanks you.  I will look forward to raising one with you at the Marriott.  And the brownies... what a treat - can't wait to enjoy them before the game.

GO HAWKS!!   POUND THE ROCK!!

Here's is my question, the AFCA is suppose to be the most prestigous all american team then,  how is it that there is only one player in the national championship on the AFCA all american team.  No Ryan Kleppe, who by the way is in the final four for the gagliardi trophy.  No Nate Kmic, No Jason Lewis.  No Derek Stanley, who is on the board for this voting maybe Ray Charles or Hellen Keller.  I had never even heard of some of the schools these guys are from.  How about Bryan Robinson not making the team as well he was defensive player of the year of his region.  I have lost respect for the AFCA maybe next year they will do some.  Thank God we have D3 football who actually attend games and will definitely be more accurate with their all american teams.

Anyone know if Beaver was re-injured in the game vs Wesley???

I read on the OAC board that he was not listed on the current two deep.  After looking for myself, he is not.  May not mean anything, but just wondering if anybody has any information.

Check it out here:

Mr. Ypsi

Whatever AFCA may say, I think it is clear to all REAL observers of d3 football that the two best running backs in d3 are Justin Beaver and Nate Kmic.  This Saturday we will see which one comes out ahead!

OK, Now that I have settled down this Coach's All-American team is simply a joke. Let's take the offensive line......what is being said that some guys from Willamette, Wooster, Washington and Jefferson are better than Jason Lewis and Max Sakellaris from Mount Union and Whitewater. The defensive lineman are all better than Ryan Kleppe.....The backs are better than Beaver and Kmic? Doesn't it matter that Whitewater plays in what is regarded as one of the best conferences and Sakellaris for instance is a three time first team pick and has started every game (49) in his four years.I am willing to bet that not one of these alleged all-americans can say that. Absolutely ridiculous. Shame on the AFCA for such a poor job.You have lost total credibility to D3........

In my opinion, here is what the AFCA All-American team should look like:

Offense:

WR: Derek Stanley, UW-Whitewater
WR: Pierre Garcon, Mt. Union
TE: Michael Allan, Whitworth
OL: Jason Lewis, Mt. Union
OL: Max Sakellaris, UW-Whitewater
OL: Josh Knox, Hardin Simmons
OL: Adam Feit, Springfield
OL: Brendan Fortune, St. John Fisher
RB: Nate Kmic, Mt. Union
RB: Mark Robinson, St. John Fisher
QB: Rocky Pentello, Capital

Defense:
DL: Bryan Robinson, Wesley
DL: Ryan Kleppe, UW-Whitewater
DL: Adam Haas, Cortland State
DL:Andrew Studebaker, Wheaton
LB: Kyle Fellweiller, Wilkes
LB: Taz Wallace, Adrian
LB: Jerrell Freeman, Mary Hardin Baylor
DB: Steve Teeples, UW-LaCrosse
DB: Craig Haywood, King's
DB: Josh Kubiak, Mary Hardin Baylor
DB: Mario Harris, Wesley

Specialists:
P: Ben Scott, Johns Hopkins
K: Bob Forstrom, St. Norbert
AP: Rob Rodriguez, Christopher Newport

Pat Coleman

Ours isn't going to be 100% the same as that but it's scary how close your list comes to what is formulating in my mind.

Only about 10% of our first team is on paper at the moment.

Full announcement Saturday before the game.

There is something very wrong with the AFAC all american selections.  How can the talent on the UWW team be overlooked????

I join everyone else in looking forward to the D3 selections.

AFCA = A F*cking Crappy All-star-team

Sorry about the cuss word, but the AFCA is simply full of ****.

Olinemom,

I do not know yet if I will be able to get to the Corn Beef and Co. on Friday, but will give it a try.  I will be with the team, and the one with a camera hanging on his neck.  I will make a point of finding you sometime during the weekend.  Maybe I can trade you some extra brownies for a copy of the photo with you and Brez.

Olinemom,

I know you're a big Pete Schmidt fan and I came across this article in today's paper and thought you might like to see it.

I don't know the whole of D3 football well enough to know if the players selected to the AFCA's All American team are more deserving than some of our players or not but no WARHAWKS on the team at all with all the talent we have is absurd.  However, while the honor is a nice one, I suspect, to a man, our players would rather be playing in the Stagg Bowl then sitting home on Saturday polishing their plaque.

Congrats to those selected, I hope you enjoy the game. ;)

Pat.....Funny thing that post wasn't from me with the suggested team but  three Whitewater players that should be on the team......Sorry to break the rules and let them use my code but they know the players better than me. They consider the AFCA"s picks ludicrous.....

Pretty hard to imagine that between the top two teams in the nation there is only 1 all american.  Even the one that got chosen probably didn't even have the best year on his own team.  I'm pretty sure that the majority of MU fans would probably say that Kmic had the better year of the two.

I'm assuming Kleppe is a slight favorite to win the Gagliardi.  If he does your going to tell me that the winner of that award isn't even an all american.

_______________

As for the two deep... there are a few things on there that aren't exactly accurate.... what exactly those things are.... i'll leave to your imagination ;)

With a backfield that was decimated with injuries during the regular season, Max anchored an o-line that allowed 3 different backs to have 100 yard rushing games.  Overcoming that adversity to still put up the rushing numbers that we have this year says a lot about our o-line.  Combine that with the career that Max has put together..... your right.... it's an absolute JOKE!!!
