JUSTDOIT: Bring back the Hecker boys - Rob and Norb. If you don't know about them, you better catch up on your Bally-Wally football history.

Welcome to the board -- hope you have a thick skin because sometimes the regulars here like to play rough. :)

One more addition to the flaming pile of BW!! ;D

Welcome Aboard JUSTDOIT.  +1Karma, just for joining!

We have fun, but Pat is right--we do like to pick on each other more than a little, and since you will be a new representative for the pee yellow and (expletive) brown, expect us to spread it on a little thick for a while.

What position did your son play in HS and what does he hope to play in college?

He was a three year starter, soph year played nose guard, Jr and Sr year 2 way starter at middle linebacker and Fullback and was the longsnapper. He lead the team in tackles his jr and sr years over 3 years had over 265 tackles. Hopes to play mlb at BW.
I can take the smack talking and willing to give it right back, all in good clean fun, I dont take these boards to seriously.
I have seen mostly MUC posters on here, we live only about 15 -20 min from MUC campus have been to a few raiders games over the years, son went to camp there and liked the coaches and had a great outing there.
Just felt he had a better chance to start or play earlier at BW.

JustDoIt...always good to have someone new here!  Welcome.

Just DO It,

Welcome.  I am probably the most common Capital poster.  I played there in the mid 90's, when we were a bottom feeder, but I have OAC ties that are deeper than that.  I grew up near Alliance, graduated from West Branch where my dad is the Athletic Director (since you are so close to Alliance, you should know where that is) and he is a Graduate of BW (played for Lee Tressel in the late 60's).  My mom is a graduate of Mount Union and a classmate of Larry Kehres.

It often doesn't help my current knowledge, however.  ;)

Anyway, +k for you, and look forward to having some BW representation on here.

JustDoIt:  Got a HS senior myself and he's looking at BW too. But we haven't heard about an acceptance yet.  How long ago did you apply?  Seems like they are taking alot of time.
He applied to all the schools he was interested in back in October & November and usually had acceptance letters or emails within 2 weeks.
I have a older son at Akron U, so this time around was much easier.

Yes I know where West Branch is, the Beloit area, I used to have a aunt that lived right on the lake there. I grew up in Hartville and played for Lake when they were in the Senate League.

Justdoit:  Welcome aboard.  We definitely need some BW folks to take up the slack from the long departed BWdad.

Goodluck to your boy at college.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Small but Slow

Younger generations may have forgotten due to the success MUC has had against B-W over the past 20 years, but there was a time the Jackets had their way with the Raiders.  When we beat B-W for the first time in a long time in '85 was a huge moment for the program.  That game was a huge turning point in MUC football history.  The old wooden goal posts went down after that game and took a student with them.  At that time B-W was the bully on the block and MUC was the struggling up and comer fighting for respect.  It seems only yesterday.  I get goose bumps when I think about that day.

When did you graduate from Lake?  I might have played against you.
