Oldpa,

I also say thank you for your kind words.  You guys really were the champions today.  It was truely a great game and Linfield played it's heart out and came up short.

I got to meet a couple of fine Warhawk fans at our tail gate today, very friendly people, though I did not catch their names.

What would you charge per hour to be my Karma Coach?  Don't know what you've been doing to set your karma on fire lately but I'm impressed. All I know is you've had me ROTFLMAO with many of your posts particularly your jackass signature.  That is a Mike Ditka quote right?

Congratulations to the Warhawks and their enthusiastic fans for their great victory.  We expect you to win next week and then send Mt. Union home from the Stagg Bowl on the 17th empty handed.

Though we lost today it's still a great day to be a Wildcat.
We were beaten by a great team.

Wildcat 11,

Thanks for your kind post on the OAC board. I know how you must feel as well as everyone else in the Cat nation. You guys have represented your team and conference with style and class all year.
We know how you feel after coming up short in our quest  last year, but you guys will be back again next year reaching for that Walnut and Bronze.

Congratulations on a great season and hope we can get together soon.

That repeating stuff is harder than it looks, isn't it? ;D
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

CamCat-The jackass signature is actually from some low ranking Texas politician who evidentally wasn't elected for his brain power.

As for the Karma, what can I say, the cream rises to the top.

Damn Mrs. Oldpa for for not letting me gamble. I might have been the proud owner of a double wide right now!

One more quick thing before bedtime, there has been quite a bit of talk about the Cats throwing two deep passes late in the 4th quarter, instead of going shorter for first downs.

They were going at our sophmore corner all game with pretty good success and that was what was available then. The kid stepped up and made a couple good plays at the right time. I really don't think it was a bad coaching decision.

WOW what a day !!!!  Anyone that jumps on here and second guesses anything that took place at the Catdome, needs to check themself.
Personally I want to thank the coaching staff and all of the Wildcat players for the ultimate football fan experience of the last two years.  Just to be around this program is a privilage.
On a side note, thanks for all of you that hosted the weekly tailgate parties.  I appreciate all that you did to make the games a special experience.  Mrs Coco  aka LL, thanks for the cookies, had a couple on the trip home,  NICE.
Well this will be my last post with the Butcher, time to retire, my man--Its been a great ride.

Always proud to be a Wildcat

Regarding the refs stopping play so frequently the Linfield announcers stated on more than one occasion it was to reset the game clock.  I know there were more than two times the refs stopped play, though, and your announcers didn't know why on those other occasions, either.

Not that it matters, but does anyone know why the announcers continually run through the Division I scores?  Giving a couple from teams in your area is one thing but on and on and on is another.

Today was a great day for DIII football between some awesome teams.  Let's hope UWW runs the table and keeps the bronze and walnut in the WEST!
Go Johnnies!!!

Veek, we've brought up our frustration with the D1 scores before. We thought they had been talking about them less the last few weeks, but apparently went back to giving these scores. I can't imagine how there could have been enough "down" time in this outstanding quarterfinal DIII game to keep giving D1 scores. I think game stats (passing yards, running yards for UWW, etc.) would have been much more interesting to DIII fans during game breaks. Anyway, one of the radio guys is an ex-D1 announcer, so that's why most feel this keeps coming up.

You're right though, it was a great game and day for DIII football. I just wish my team could have come out on the winning end. The teams in this region kick ass and are really fun to watch.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Bluenote,

My impression is the national championship is the Stagg Bowl on Dec 17 in Salem, Va. No amount of wishing or hoping makes it any different. I hope the Raiders make it but we have one tough opponent coming next Sat. Rowan has always played well and certainly is worthy of another Stagg appearence if we don't have our "A" game. They have already proven they know what it takes to stop us from getting their too!
WW also has a heck of a game next week before they can play in the Stagg. They did overcome one huge obstacle today though.

Congratulations on a terrific season.

Thanks for the free pass to the Stagg but we are still playing games and need one more win to get there. Not looking ahead except to Rowan next week. Maybe there was a little looking forward in Linfield today.
WW beat St Johns big and that should have been a clear message of the quality of team they were.

Just curious if the Raiders do happen to meet and beat WW will they still be a great team?

Don't want to disappoint but The Raiders will do everything possible to get the Walnut and Bronze back to Ohio and add another branch to the walnut tree that  grows there.

Truly sorry for your loss. I know the feeling. It sucks.

But not as much as the Tommies' but that is another story.

As I stated earlier you guys have always been a class act and will be back in the hunt for that Walnut and Bronze next year.

Hope to continue to chat with you in the off season.

Congrats to Linfield and fans on a great season. I know you lose alot of players this year, but you have been winning a very long time and I don't expect it to end any time soon.

A special thanks to Coco, Wildcat 11, and Mrs. Coco for your updates and class.

I just wish OAS coulda been there to witness the game.  Just listened to a voice message from WC11, he sounded beliggerent and angry.

Congrats on a great season Cats.  You were obviously worthy opponents today.  The Bus knew that Whitewater was for real after he witnessed the beatdown they gave my Johnnies last weekend.  Holy cow, I never woulda thought in a million years that someone could play a shootout with Linfield and win.  I was convinced it would take a game in the 20s to beat the Cats.  Looking forward to the West Region Final in Collegeville next fall with the Cats rolling into town... :o
