Edgewood laid another egg and lost 4-0 to Lakeland in game two. It looks like the last two teams will be CUW and BU who swept Rockford to get in.

Rockford managed an egg of their own, giving up seven runs in the ninth inning to lose 9-4 and miss the tournament.

NathCon tourney games facing delays due to heavy rains in the area right now (and rumors of an untarped field).
Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

This could be very interesting to see what happens if they cannot get the games in due to rain. I am not sure how to bid would be awarded in this conference. Sometimes a conference defers to regular season champ, other times highest seeded team left at time... or even to the team left unbeaten at the time (if applicable) anyone have an answer to that?

If the tournament does not start or all 4 teams do not play at least one game, then the highest seed will receive the AQ.

If all teams have played at least one game, then the last remaining undefeated team would receive the AQ. If there are two teams tied at 1-0, then the highest seed gets the AQ.

They may have to resort to single elimination to get this in.

This will be the fifth game for CUC in two days; the fourth for Aurora. My guess is that's out of the ordinary for conference tournaments caused in this case by the total washout on Friday.

I'm not familiar enough with Aurora's staff to see who they have left to pitch in the deciding game. My guess is that CUC will go with Kluss (?). Any possibility that any of the previous day's pitchers can go a few innings today?

Just Bill

Whoever was pitching for CUC, it didn't work out for them. Cougars getting thumped by Aurora 10-1 in the fifth.

Collaro started for CUC and gave up most of the runs. Interestingly, he also started the game against Benedictine yesterday and struggled, but went into that game at 7-0. To be fair to him, only three of the 8 runs he gave up were earned. (5 CUC errors have not helped.)

OshDude

Do we know if the run rule is in effect for the championship game?
