Way to go Generals!  You have proved it's not the season, but the post season.  With good coaching and improved players - anything is possible!

ODACHOOPS

Second biggest upset in the history of the tournament rd of 8?? Umm I don't know about that.  Definitely a huge upset but with Guilford not even being ranked nationally I don't think it tops 07 when the Tigers were 15-11 overall and took down the defending national champs and #2 team in the country in the second rd.  Yes it was a 5 seed taking down a 1 seed and not a 8 taking down a 1 but considering how powerful VWC was that year finishing the ODAC 17-1 and being ranked #2 in the country that to me was a bigger upset.

Who cares - we got the W today!

The upset was in the semi-finals. For it to count as the second biggest upset in the quarterfinals/round of 8, it would need to actually occur in the quarterfinals. An upset in the semi-finals, therefore, does not count as the second biggest upset in the quarterfinals buddy...

Here I was -- in a deep depression over the past month due to W&L's inability to win umpteen-million home games -- and then they go out and pull a Lynchburgian upset circa a couple of years ago.

Now my doubting days are over.

Lets go Gennies -- bring home the ODAC!

Don't remind me!!  Aaggh!

Also, W&L is a far better team this year then that LC team. . . all those years ago. . . ;D

Wow!  Sounds like an exciting game.
I never for a moment underestimated W&L;  Hutchinson's teams have given Guilford fits for years.
Who knows, we might still get a Pool C, but the stars would have to align right.

Wow, did Sanborn pull down 21 boards today? Shots weren't dropping, obviously.

In spite of today, I really like Guilford's team this year.  Guilford has had a really fine season and exceeded expectations all year.  Way to go guys, and way to keep playing with the 2OTs today.

smithgraham77-
I am talking about "ODAC upsets" in general.  Not quarterfinal rd upsets only or only semi final rd upsets, or only upsets that occurred past 3pm on Thursday's..HSC defeating defending national champion and the #2 team in the country was a bigger upset in my opinion then a 1 beating an 8 when neither team was nationally ranked, nor already guaranteed an at-large bid.

The original question was "second biggest upset in the history of the round of 8, perhaps?" Notice how that is different from "second biggest upset in the history of the ODAC Tournament, perhaps?" Now tell me how your post in reaction answered the question?

Guilford was #17 in 2007 when BC defeated the Quakers 88-78 in Round #1.

The Eagles get W&L in the next round. Should be a good one.

Yes it should - it's difficult to beat someone 3 times in 1 season(at least I hope it is).
