Greg,

Bosko (NP) played Moody Bible Institute because the AD there at the time was such a great guy.  Probably the only time in college basketball history where the visiting AD was the PA announcer.

IWU (5-2) hosts Wash U (5-1) tomorrow at 3:00pm in a significant "in-region" game.  Some notes on the matchup...

As I said before the Augie/Wash U game, this is the kind of game that can have a lot of different tournament implications.  Both teams will want this "W" come tournament selection day.

I saw Wash U play Pomona-Pitzer Saturday in St. Louis.  Wash U has nice offensive balance with sophomore point-guard Sean Wallis (11.5 ppg), 6-6 sophomore wing Tyler Nading (15.3 ppg), and 6-6 junior low post player Troy Ruths (18.8 ppg).  The Bears are pretty slow and unathletic though, whereas IWU has great athleticism in the frontline with Freeman, Gant, and Freeman.  The Titans, led by those 3, are out-rebounding opponents by a very impressive 13 boards per game.

It will be nice to see the Titans play a home game after starting with 6 of 7 on the road.  As tough as this start has probably been on players, coaches, and fans, in the long run I think it was just what this new IWU team needed.  There is a no better place for a team to start to find an identity than the road.  IWU has faced some good competition in UW-Whitewater, Ohio Wesleyan, St. Xavier, and Olivet Nazarene.  The Titans have played pretty well overall to this point but they'll need to play with more consistency to go 3-0 in this in-region stretch (vs Wash U 12/9, Chicago 12/16, @ Hanover 12/19).

Greg, for the second time?  When was the first?

I'll be at the Wheaton/Northwestern game and I hope to see a lot of d3 fans as well!

As I've stated before, it's great to see Andrew Freeman get a chance to shine on the team.  He has played some significant time over the past three years but was mainly spelling people from the bench.

Bob-  What's your opinion on the game and the impact that IWU's three big men will have on the game?  What are IWU's keys to a win?

As an IWU alum and a Wash U grad student, I'll still be wearing my green and white on Saturday!!

Harrigan is second in the Irish Superleague at 27.1 points a game.

So basically what you're saying is, Harrigan is having it his way?  ::) ;D

For those who will be attending the IWU/Wash U. game this Saturday afternoon:

The IWU students are trying to collect 500 toys to give to children who otherwise wouldn't be getting gifts this holiday season.  They will be accepting toys at the game.  Toys need to be new and unwrapped and be appropriate for young people in the age range birth-16.
You'll never walk alone.

I have watched A Freeman play good games - he needs to pick up his overall desire on game days and let it out....although a good player, he could be just as good as his brother if that desire kicks in, imo

Also, there is a guard at IWU that is injured - he brings intesity, leadership and desire to win so i think they are missing that piece ever since he was injured but forgot his name....

Sean Dwyer (Hersey High School) is the name you're looking for, I think.  He fits the bill.

56-41 Harris-Stowe beating North Central - 8:10 left in the 2nd

North Park escapes with a 91-88 home victory over Rockford.  The Vikings broke out to an 11-0 lead, but the Regents chipped away and found their 3-point range to close the gap to a 40-35 deficit at the half.  The Vikings held on for a 3-point win to go 6-2.  Rockford has some real shooters from beyond the arc!

North Central will have a tough time beating North Park if they can't even get past Harris-Stowe.

As a former Midwest Central student and athlete, and a good friend of Elmhurst' Ryan Burks, I want to say Congratulations on the other night's ball game. What a great win for the BlueJays and for the CCIW.

Also, good luck to Midwest Central alum Andy Battey, taking on North Central tomorrow.

It's great to be back in CCIW land- Go Bluejays!
