CUA's press release on Clark's departure. No news on what his future plans are here.

Liberty just hired Danny Rocco as their head football coach on December, 2nd. He was a linebackers coach at UVA, and I don't know if he would be coordinating the defense himself, or if he would hire a D-coordinator. Coach Clark was D-coordinator at W&M, but he has coached offense back in his HS coaching days and at Catholic for several years. He did have the #1 passing offense in D3, so he might be able to coach on either side of the ball at Liberty.

The latest and greatest on T. Clark...

Today's RTD online reports (source: Marty Favret) that T. Clark will be Defensive Coordinator at Liberty...
NO, Tusky, You cannot MOON Dr. Geisert!

Dave Ross is sending my BC/W&L  and BC/HSC video tapes in the mail! It may be a few weeks since much of their staff is on vacation but I am so pumped!
I cannot wait to see the blocked PAT for a Safety with 3 laterals vs W&L.

HEARDENOUGH,
The fact that Kid posted what he may or may not have heard should be good enough.  Kid has a great rep on this site and in my opinion has worked his way up to be one of the more knowledgable D3 Football fans in the country.  Let it rest on where he may or may not have heard rumors about Ricca. (it's weird there is only 1 left playing right now!  :-\)    I'm sure in a few days or weeks everything will work its way to the media or at least to this site.    Also, not to knock you for being a new poster (welcome, please stay)  but Kid owes nothing to a "new guy" with only 7 posts!  ;)

I guess kid isn't always right!    :P

Maybe not always, but as we say in Bridgewater, "purt near" always.

I don't think I said Kid was ALWAYS right, but I will still hold to the statement that he has a great rep around here and in the D3 community.   He also does not deserve to take flack from a "new guy" with a handful of posts.

I for one am sad to see Clark leave CUA, he seems like a great guy and coach.  It's unfortunate he wasn't able to stick around to see if CUA could make a return to the top of the ODAC pile!

To his credit he said it was hearsay from the start.

Thanks Jeremy.  I even put it in red! :)

I don't see McDaniel beating us 3 times in a row unless all 15 Green Terror injuries have totally healed.

QuoteHe may want out, but it doesn't seem like he is their first choice.  The Roanoke paper says on 12.15.05 that Favret had applied and had spoken with the VMI AD, but the Roanoke paper says in a different article that Coach Clark had an informal interview on 12.11.05 and w/d on 12.18.05.

Favret applying for the VMI job shows that he isn't committed to Farmville anymore. After recruiting for an all male school in the middle of nowhere, how bad could recruiting at VMI be?
Now the above post states that Marty applied on12/15 at VMI, but TC supposedly spoke to Favret on 12/16 in Salem about his decision to leave Catholic. Clark gave his mentor a prior notice before others, and maybe he is thinking Favret wanted to know about the Catholic opening before others did.

Granted, HSC is all-male, but there is a difference between recruiting at an all-male school versus a military school such as VMI.  It's like the old joke about breakfast: "... the chicken is involved in breakfast because she laid an egg but the pig was committed because he supplied the bacon."   Another factor that could sway recruits is the past performance of the football program.  Despite their inability to win the ODAC the past few years, the winning percentage of the Tigers is far above that of the Keydets for many, many years.

Llama Guy:

So I was driving home from Salem on I-81 north and passed a llama farm near, maybe Route 798 in Virginia.  I immediately thought of you...then of tasty chicken.  But, setting the chicken aside, was that your farm? :)

May have been. I am the only farm visable from I81 near MM 259. It would have been on your right headed north just past a new Liberty gas station. Glad you enjoyed the chicken. Now I have a ploy to  get Pat Coleman to send you guys down to BC to do a game in 2006. I'll supply the grub. ;D

And I'll supply the dessert!! ;D ;D
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

FYI....I have it on good authority that Baer (QB), Maybank (RB), and the DT that sacked Jake on the last play of the game this year are applying for a medical redshirt for last season.  Maybank was a senior, Baer was a junior, and I'm not sure about the DT, so they'll have some playmakers back.

BC at McDaniel should be a good game. BC will have lots of new faces with 30 or 31 Seniors picking up their degrees in May.
Highfill and Winston Young need to have good games as well as Copeland at WR.

After the tiny Freshman class last year, Mike Clark is looking for many more Freshmen for 2006.

Has anyone heard how Kiesel is doing with recruiting at Guilford?  I'm hoping the 2005 success, especially in the last part of the season, and the stadium renovations will give some incoming freshmen the idea that this is "the place to be" for the next few years.  Among other things, the Offensive line graduated three starters, a solid running game is yet to emerge and, of course, the Defense still gives up too many points (but they were better in 2005).
