What's the story with the NESCAC?  If it chooses to exclude itself, are there other conferences with the same limitations?  Is that why it is not in the D3 or AFCA top 25?

You got it Bwana.  30-game win streak for Trinity...and we'll never know how good they really are.
Why do they choose to exclude themselves?

Bwana,

Here's what ATN wrote about it this year.

Here's an article about the conference from last year.

Because it is located in Hartford, Conn.

Bwana, as a member of the newspaper industry (and a former SID), I can tell you that nothing makes it easier on a publication than having a press release from the school. Who knows who did what?
Well, I'm not the SID, but I did research where the guys are from, and since Pat, you brought up the press release issue, I wrote our SID and asked him about it point blank.  And when I see him this weekend up in the frozen tundra of Greenville, I will ask him again if I have not heard from him.  The RTD seems to be able to cover our games when we play RMC or HS without having whatever this release is, but when it comes to recognition, they don't.  Seems odd and shoddy journalism to me.  I have subscribed to the RTD for a zillion years ('cause I'm older than dirt) and I distinctly remember better reporting, but perhaps like all good things, those reporters, like Bill Wood, have retired.  Tsk!  Tsk!!

Sure, because 1) those are events to which they can send someone, and 2) if they don't staff the game, the RMC or HSC athletics department can still send a press release.

I am not saying this is what happened here -- just pointing out that there's a process involved. Bridgewater may not bother with the RTD based on its past coverage. It could also be that whomever put the story together for the RTD dropped the ball as well, but I have to think a paper is less likely to drop the ball if it has the information spoon-fed to it in the form of a news release.

Is Mike Clark going with Highfill or Lewis? Or is he making Thiel prepare for both QB's? He indicated on his post game radio show that Nick Lincoln was the backup vs W&J.
Maybe it will be literally a game time decision?

I am surprised that the RTD isn't knocking on BC's door daily for reports or information.  Their presence at the Richmond Touchdown Club Banquet every year is formidable, and since BC has had several players and coaches honored there over the last 6 years, I would assume they know the quality of the program.  My inquiries to the Washington Post about D3 football coverage gets the standard " we don't get the releases, we only cover Catholic because it is local and nobody cares."  Well how wrong they are !!!  I always tell them to look at the numbers on this site.  I constantly communicate with the "regional papers" like the Journal Messenger/Potomac news in Prince William County that reprints major stories out of the Washington Post, with a little high school and bowling coverage.  They won't cover the ODAC or other local D3 schools ( Shenendoah, etc ) which has over 100 local kids on the rosters.  I must admit Keith McMillian did try when he was there, with limited success.   I guess they need to save room for the 938th article on that ridiculous Owens kid from Philly.

Speaking of local kids, do you know who might be recruiting Brandon Hogan at OHS?  He sounds like he could be a good fit at BC.

Of course, there is that little matter of Hylton to worry about first!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody and good luck BC...keep on making the ODAC look good. I say 27-20 BC.

Happy Thanksgiving Posters!  ;D

Safe travels to all BC fans! I won't be able to make it this weekend, but you can bet I'll be right by the radio, wishing I were there with you! Hold down Stone Station...and no sprinklers without me! Llama, drink an extra Boone's for me!  ;)

GO BC!!

Jeremybozz

I like the way the BC D is playing right now but if someone had even suggested that the Eagle defense would have more 1st team ODAC selections than the offense after the Guilford game (and the other 4 games to that point) I would have laughed.

Bwana, Brandon Hogan will get alot of D2, D3 interest.  He may not be recruited as a QB by all schools, he could play several positions.  Not sure about the other factors of recruiting him.

Happy Thanksgivings

In our day think about the ones who are somewhere else making it possible for us to be where we are. The Infantryman standing out front, the Coast Guardsman boarding a ship in 20 ft seas, the sailor standind his watch, the Marine and the pilot.
